My client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Stormwater Engineer / Project Manager to take a leadership role within their Maryland team. This position is heavily focused on stormwater management, offering the opportunity to lead large, high-impact projects while mentoring teams, supporting business growth, and helping shape the future direction of the practice.
Responsibilities:
- Lead complex stormwater design and drainage analysis efforts
- Oversee stormwater projects including:
- Stormwater management systems
- Drainage and conveyance design
- Stormwater retrofits and improvements
- Provide oversight across all project phases from feasibility through construction
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
- Lead permitting strategy and approvals across jurisdictions
- Oversee construction observation and documentation
- Manage multidisciplinary teams and sub-consultants
- Review and approve all technical deliverables and construction documents
- Support proposal development, project pursuits, and client relationship management
- Mentor engineers and technical staff while helping develop the next generation of project leaders
Required Experience
- 20+ years of experience with a strong focus on stormwater engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (Maryland preferred or ability to obtain)
- Extensive experience working with PG County, WSSC, and SHA or MDTA
- Proven ability to lead major projects and maintain client relationships
- Deep understanding of stormwater regulations, permitting, and delivery
- Experience supporting business development, proposals, and project pursuits preferred
Technical Experience
- Strong working knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Experience leading design teams and overseeing production
