Job summary

The NYC Carpenters Training Center in New York is looking for a Storefront & Curtain Wall Instructor to train journeymen in installation, assembly, and understanding of commercial systems. Qualifications

• Must be a member in Good Standing with The New York City District Council of Carpenters.
• Proven experience with commercial storefront and curtain wall systems.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Prior teaching, training, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Patience and ability to work with varying skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and train journeymen in storefront and curtain wall systems.
• Teach proper installation techniques and sequencing.
• Interpret and explain blueprints and drawings.
• Demonstrate layout, fabrication, and assembly.
• Ensure all training follows safety standards.
• Evaluate trainee progress and provide feedback.
• Assist in developing training materials and lesson plans.

Education

OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
