The New York City District Council of Carpenters Training Center is seeking a part-time Drywall and Metal Framing Installation Instructor to train members in framing and drywall installation with hands-on guidance, using proper tools, techniques, and materials.

The role requires extensive field experience, outstanding communication, safety and quality focus, and a passion for teaching the next generation of carpenters.

Qualifications

• Must be a member in Good Standing with The New York City District Council of Carpenters.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in doors and hardware installation or a related trade preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in framing and drywall installation.
• Deep knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in framing and drywall installation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse group of learners.
• Basic proficiency with PC and tablets, as well as related software for instructional purposes.

• Provide hands-on demonstrations and training in preparation, material selection, installation techniques, and finishing processes.

Job Description:

The Carpenters Training Center is looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Drywall and Metal Framing Installation Instructor to join our team on a part-time basis. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide hands-on training to members in the installation of Framing and Drywall, utilizing the correct tools, techniques, and materials. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the field, with the ability to guide members through the full process of installation, preparation, and maintenance. This position requires strong communication skills, a dedication to safety and quality, and a passion for educating the next generation of members.

The hourly rate for this position is based on the General Foreman rate of the Collective Bargaining Agreement; currently $66.05 per hour.
