Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market is seeking an Assistant Store Director – Center Store to lead day-to-day operations, manage staff, and optimize department performance. The role supports store profitability through scheduling, cost control, and customer-focused initiatives within a fast-paced grocery environment.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 5+ years of grocery retail experience, with strong leadership, training, and communication skills to uphold Fresh Thyme’s standards of

Qualifications

• Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
• Ability to adapt to the ever-changing high-volume retail while working in a cross-functional team environment.
• Must have the capacity to take initiative when problems arise.
• Must be familiar with Health Department guidelines and regulations as they pertain to a grocery retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees NL department manager and holds the Grocery Manager Position responsibilities to ensure staff is held accountable for the conditions of their department.
• Provides ongoing training to staff and ensures policies and procedures are followed.
• Financial ownership and accountability of applicable departments.
• Manages merchandising, program execution, loss prevention, and department appearance/conditions.
• Maintains store sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with local laws and best practices.
