Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Presales Storage Solution Engineer to join the FAE organization. You will sit at the intersection of customers, engineering, and infrastructure, designing high-impact storage and system architectures for production-scale deployments.

In this role you will own complex problems end-to-end, influence deployments across enterprise accounts, collaborate with Sales and cross-functional teams, and travel up to 25% to support engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in compute/server/storage or datacenter environments.
• Deep expertise in x86 server architecture, hardware design, diagnostics and perf troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization in production environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of FAEs to drive technical excellence and revenue growth.
• Serve as primary technical solution architect for enterprise and Fortune 1000 customers.
• Translate customer requirements into scalable hardware and software solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across pre-sales design, PoC, deployment, and post-sales oversight.
• Engage with C-level and senior stakeholders to influence technology decisions.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues across hardware, firmware, OS, and apps.
• Lead cross-department engineering teams during product development and escalations.
• Develop and deliver technical proposals, bid responses, and customer presentations.
• Represent the company with on-site visits, workshops, and executive briefings.
• Travel up to 25% to support engagements.
