Job summary

Five9 is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer – Storage Platforms to build, automate, and operate large-scale SDS and Kubernetes platforms in a private cloud. The role emphasizes IaC, GitOps, and scalability for mission-critical apps.

This fully remote role is open to candidates outside the 30-mile radius; within that radius, the role is Hybrid with in-office days. You will collaborate with SRE and platform teams, own storage infrastructure, and contribute to runbooks and docs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience managing enterprise storage and Kubernetes platforms on Linux.
• Hands-on with SDS solutions (Ceph, Longhorn) and storage migrations.
• Expert knowledge of block, file, and object storage including NVMe-oF/iSCSI.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, Terraform) for provisioning storage.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash; Golang is a plus.
• Experience operating 24x7 mission-critical production environments and with KVM/OpenStack.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, automate, and operate large-scale SDS architectures across private and public cloud regions.
• Deploy and support enterprise storage platforms (Pure, HPE, NetApp) and SDS (Ceph, Longhorn).
• Integrate self-service storage workflows for Kubernetes CSI and OpenStack users.
• Implement and manage backup solutions (Rubik).
• Build IaC for storage platforms using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, and Git, with Python/Bash automation.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure updates, testing, and rollback.
• Monitor storage systems with Prometheus, Loki, Grafana; enable GitOps.
• Troubleshoot storage, Kubernetes, hypervisors, networking, and Linux.
• Create and maintain technical docs, runbooks.
• On-call rotations and incident response.
• Collaborate on change management and best practices.
