Job summary

Five9 is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer – Storage Platforms for on-site work to design, deploy, and operate large-scale Software Defined Storage across private clouds. You will implement Kubernetes-based storage, OpenStack workflows, and multi-tenant architectures with robust backup and IaC tooling.

The role requires expert-level SDS, Kubernetes, and Linux experience, plus strong scripting in Python/Bash and hands-on OpenStack/KVM familiarity.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of storage and Kubernetes on Linux
• Hands-on with SDS (Ceph Longhorn) and migrations
• Block/File/Object storage incl NVMe-oF/iSCSI/Fibre Channel
• Kubernetes and Linux systems expertise (Ubuntu/RHEL)
• IaC (Ansible, Terraform) provisioning for storage
• Backup tech experience (Rubrik preferred)
• Python and Bash scripting (Go a plus)
• 24x7 production operations experience
• KVM hypervisors (SUSE Harvester, OpenStack)
• Strong written/spoken communication

Responsibilities

• Deploy, automate, and operate large-scale SDS architectures across private/public clouds
• Deploy and support enterprise storage platforms (Pure, HPE, NetApp) and SDS (Ceph, Longhorn)
• Integrate storage workflows for Kubernetes CSI and OpenStack clients
• Implement and manage backup solutions (Rubik)
• Build IaC for storage platforms using Ansible, Terraform, Helm with Python/Bash
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for infra updates, patching, testing, rollback
• Improve monitoring/observability with Prometheus, Loki, Grafana; GitOps
• Troubleshoot storage, Kubernetes, hypervisors, networking, Linux
• Develop runbooks and architecture docs; on-call incident response
• Collaborate globally on change management and best practices
