Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a senior DevOps engineer to own storage for GPU-accelerated compute and AI platforms. You will integrate NFS-based high-performance storage into Kubernetes via CSI, tune the data path, and operate storage services in hybrid and air-gapped deployments.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in DevOps/SRE, strong Kubernetes storage experience, IaC and GitOps expertise, and comfort with bare-metal provisioning and Linux networking.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure operations and hands-on experience operating Kubernetes storage (CSI, persistent volumes, storage classes) in production.
• Experience integrating and operating NFS-based high-performance NAS storage, including data-path tuning.
• Bare-metal operations experience: host provisioning, disk/storage configuration, and Linux storage/networking fundamentals.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/OpenTofu) and GitOps-driven configuration.
• Scripting/automation skills (Bash, Python, or Go).
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Storage Integration & Operation: Integrate NFS-based storage into Kubernetes via CSI, storage classes, and PVs; tune data path for GPU/AI workloads.
• Bare Metal & Platform: Provision storage on bare-metal hosts and configure for k0s-based Kubernetes via CAPI and K0rdent.
• Automation & Observability: Automate provisioning with IaC and GitOps; build monitoring and observability for storage performance and health; diagnose performance issues.
