Job summary
Doist is seeking a senior DevOps engineer to own the storage stack where Kubernetes meets bare metal, standing up NFS-based high-performance storage and wiring it into clusters via CSI for GPU workloads at scale. The role spans hybrid, edge, and air-gapped deployments built on the Mirantis K0rdent stack.
The ideal candidate treats storage as infra to be automated, observed, and tuned, with IaC and GitOps by default.
Qualifications
- Senior DevOps engineer with storage as infrastructure mindset.
- Fluent in Kubernetes storage and bare-metal to disk/kernel layers.
- Experience automating with IaC and GitOps.
Responsibilities
- Integrate NFS-based high-performance storage into Kubernetes clusters via CSI and storage classes.
- Tune NFS data path for high-throughput, low-latency GPU/AI workloads.
- Deploy and operate storage services and operators; manage capacity, quotas, snapshots.
- Provision and configure storage on bare-metal hosts, including disk layout and kernel tuning.
- Deliver storage integration for k0s-based Kubernetes via CAPI and K0rdent topologies.
- Operate storage in air-gapped environments with Harbor, PKI/TLS considerations.
- Automate provisioning with Terraform/OpenTofu and GitOps (ArgoCD or Flux).
- Build monitoring, alerting, and observability for storage performance, capacity, and health.
- Diagnose and resolve performance, reliability, and scaling issues across the storage stack.
