Job summary

You will evaluate claims experience, employee group characteristics, and profitability, applying underwriting policies and risk standards. Qualifications

• 5-7 years' experience in underwriting of self-funded and converting fully insured prospects to self-funding.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; substitutions: 6 years relevant, progressive experience.

Responsibilities

• Renew accounts and write new business at profitable levels to meet targets.
• Calculate rates and interpret pricing policy for different scenarios.
• Identify renewal issues and provide recommendations based on risk and experience.
• Apply risk management policies and adjust pricing for unusual cases.
• Support internal initiatives including fraud detection and product development.
• Guide lower level analysts and maintain departmental tools and processes.
