Job summary

The Advanced Medical Supply Technician (AMST) in the Sterile Processing Service (SPS) supports all clinical services by reprocessing complex equipment and following manufacturer guidelines. This role requires expertise with highly complex instrument sets used in open heart, orthopedic joints, and endoscopic procedures, and demands strict adherence to SOPs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• The AMST must be familiar with all duties performed in SPS and the standard operating procedures and manufacturing guidelines.
• The GS-7 is a subject matter expert with experience in the most complex processes.

Responsibilities

• Assembles highly complex instrument sets for procedures (e.g., open heart, major orthopedic joints, cardiovascular, craniotomy, robotic, complex endoscopic instrumentation).
• Processes and sterilizes Reusable Medical Equipment (RME) per manufacturer guidelines and SOPs.
• Reviews guidelines to ensure correct methods, troubleshoots equipment, and interprets alarm conditions during operation.
