Job summary

Community Health Systems in Texas is seeking a Sterile Process Technician II to prepare and assemble medical and surgical supplies and instruments with advanced skill. You will ensure compliance with sterilization and decontamination protocols and support daily sterile processing operations.

You will perform QA checks, mentor Sterile Process Technician I staff, manage inventory, document results, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining patient safety and infection control

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in sterile processing or a related role.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required if hired after July 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, preparing, packaging, disinfecting or sterilizing, and storing medical and surgical supplies and equipment.
• Assembles complex instrument trays and sets for surgical procedures.
• Distributes medical supplies with proper documentation to appropriate areas.
• Monitors and documents results of sterilization indicators and addresses issues.
• Operates sterilization and decontamination equipment and performs routine maintenance.
• Mentors Sterile Process Technician I staff and provides on‑the‑job training when needed.
• Performs quality control checks on sterilized instruments and maintains logs of usage and testing results.
• Maintains inventory and logs for supplies, expiration dates, and testing results.
