Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Advanced Specialist, Content Implementation to drive end-to-end item and test development for large-scale statewide K–12 assessments. The role leads content development with clients, translating standards into high-quality item and test specifications and coordinating with Psychometrics, Content, Publishing Services, and Program Delivery.

You will guide assessment design, manage paper and online modalities, monitor schedules and budgets, and lead vendor interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years in the educational testing and assessment industry, including client-facing work and cross‑functional leadership.
• Experience with item and test development for statewide K–12 assessments; paper and online modalities.
• Knowledge of psychometric principles relevant to development.
• Experience with statewide assessments; classroom teaching experience valued.
• Proficiency with project and financial planning.
• Strong vendor management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Adaptability with enterprise systems and tools.
• Ability to travel throughout the year, with increased travel during summer months.
• AI-related qualifications: experience with AI-supported content development, prompting, and evaluating AI-generated content for educational assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment design and content development for statewide programs.
• Serve as primary client-facing content development lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Translate standards into item and test specifications and secure client approvals.
• Manage scope, labor forecasts, and vendor interactions.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
• Communicate with customers and lead reviews of milestones and deliverables.
• Drive AI strategy and integration in assessment content workflows.
