Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
• At least two years and six months of practice experience.
• Experience as lead prosecutor for felonies or extensive appellate work.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates criminal complaints to decide whether to prosecute and to determine charges.
• Reviews documentation, conducts legal research, interviews witnesses, and gathers evidence.
• Drafts and files motions, briefs, and other legal documents for trials or hearings.
• Explains legal processes to witnesses and keeps clients informed of status.
• Represents the State in trials, hearings, and plea negotiations when needed.
• Manages court docket and schedules to meet deadlines; trains other attorneys as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
