  • Two years and six months of legal practice experience required.
  • Experience as lead prosecutor for felonies or extensive appellate work.
  • Current license to practice law in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate criminal complaints to decide prosecution eligibility and charging.
  • Conduct legal research, interview witnesses, and gather evidence.
  • Draft, file and respond to motions, briefs, and documents for trial.
  • Explain legal processes to witnesses and prepare them for court.
  • Present evidence and conduct examinations of witnesses at trial/hearings.
  • Negotiate settlements or plea bargains with proper approvals.
  • Manage court docket and scheduling to meet deadlines.
  • Train Attorneys I–III and assist in supervision as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
