Job summary

The State of Hawaii seeks qualified Planners at Levels IV, V, and VI to develop legislative and administrative plans for Hawaii’s development on Oahu. Level IV focuses on planning projects and agency relationships; Level V conducts studies for geographic areas and major concerns; Level VI supervises major projects or serves as planner-in-charge for significant state initiatives.

Positions require a bachelor's degree and 2.5 to 4.5 years of progressively responsible professional planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 2.5 to 4.5 years of progressively responsible professional planning experience.
• Experience in collection and evaluation of physical, social, economic and environmental data.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate information and develop policy options and alternatives for action.

Responsibilities

• Develop legislative and administrative plans for Hawaii's physical, environmental, social, and economic development on Oahu.
• Conduct studies and prepare plans for geographic areas and major concerns.
• Oversee major planning projects and coordinate with agencies to support state initiatives.
