Job summary

Michigan AG is seeking an Accountant to manage financial entries for the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, including ADA sales and tax entries, EFTs, and year-end closings. The role also handles budgeting in collaboration with LARA/DTMB, analyzes revenue and expenses, and maintains inventories at ADA warehouses.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree with 24 accounting credits; CPA/CMA may substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester credits in accounting.
• CPA or CMA certifications may substitute for part of Accountant P11 experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post accounting entries for the Commission’s operations.
• Perform year-end closing procedures and prepare financial statements.
• Assist budgeting with LARA and DTMB staff; analyze revenue and expenses.
• Monitor revenue/expense accounts; provide monthly expenditure projections.
• Maintain inventory and conduct periodic counts at ADA warehouses.
