Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 24 semester credits in accounting.
  • Accountant 9 requires no specific type or amount of experience.
  • Accountant 10 requires 1 year of professional accounting experience.
  • Accountant P11 requires 2 years of professional experience, including 1 year at level 10 or similar.
  • CPA may substitute for one year of Accountant P11; CMA may substitute for six months.

Responsibilities

  • Make Sigma financial entries for the Commission’s accounts, including ADA liquor sales and tax entries, EFT entries, ADA over/short entries, transfer of agency revenue entries, and payment of expenses.
  • Perform year-end closing procedures and correct accounting records.
  • Complete and verify legally mandated monthly and annual financial statements using BI software.
  • Perform budgeting work for the Commission, coordinating with LARA and DTMB staff.
  • Analyze revenue and expense accounts and perform monthly expenditure analysis and projections.
  • Maintain Commission liquor inventory and conduct physical inventory counts at ADA warehouses.
