Job summary

Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group in Hawaii seeks a General Stage Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a live show, ensuring safety, artistic excellence, and precise cueing across performance, acrobatics, lighting and sound.

You will lead the Stage Management team, manage show documentation, and coordinate with the Artistic Director, Technical Director and GM to develop training, contingency plans and staffing while maintaining payroll records.

Qualifications

• College Diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 4–6 years of theatrical stage management experience.
• 2–4 years of live show calling with complex automation and tech elements.
• Calm decision making under pressure.
• Multicultural or tour experience is an asset.
• First Aid/CPR training is an asset.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
• Fluency in English; French or other languages an asset.

Responsibilities

• Call the show and run backstage tracks.
• Lead and mentor the Stage Management team; recruit interns as needed.
• Manage show documentation with all departments.
• Supervise emergency procedures and contingency plans.
• Implement artistic and technical adjustments as requested by the AD.
• Plan, prepare and follow up training sessions and rehearsals.
• Manage daily show operations with GM, TD, and AD/AM.
• Organize regular meetings with the Artistic team.
• Participate in Show Management meetings.
• Support Artist staffing, contracts and payments.
• Contribute to performance evaluations with the AD/AM.
• Record performer progress and behavior in collaboration with Performance teams.
• Plan integration of new performers and acts; manage returns post-rehab.
• Supervise Artist Training Modules (ATM).
• Apply progressive discipline; deliver and follow-up on Action Plans.
• Support leave of absence requests; coordinate events and workshops.
• Maintain emergency measures for theater during performances.
• Enforce production rules and payroll timesheets.
