Renesas Electronics Corp. in Austin, Texas seeks an experienced test engineer to develop best-in-class test programs for NPI, quality and capability initiatives.

You will support qualification and correlation of developed products, train junior team members, and work with leadership to define processes that drive execution and quality for the test group. You will implement baseline software/hardware solutions to scale the team, report ROI inputs for test planning, and coordinate with engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 10–15+ years with Automated Test Systems (ATE).
  • Hands-on experience in ATE test development for analog, digital and mixed signal.
  • Proficient with ATE analog/digital instruments and debugging.

Responsabilités

  • Develop best of class test programs to support NPI, quality & capability initiatives.
  • Support qualification, characterization, and correlation of developed products.
  • Train and guide junior team members for independent success.
  • Work with leadership to implement processes, procedures, guidelines and specifications for the test group.
  • Implement and develop baseline software and hardware solutions for scaling the broader team.
  • Determine and report ROI inputs for planning and test flow with revenue, COGS and capacity mindfully in focus.
  • Coordinate with product engineering and operations to enable seamless production ramp and release.
  • Support production yield and customer return activities for quality.
  • Act as a test platform expert on the ATE equipment in use for the test group.
  • Mentor younger engineers and grow team capabilities.
  • Support lab team with equipment calibration and maintenance planning.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 10 to 15+ years of experience working with Automated Test Systems (ATE).
  • 10 to 15+ years of hands‑on experience in ATE test development for analog, digital and mixed signal, with a strong focus on analog power product testing.
  • Experience in programming such as C++, basic, Perl, python, etc.
  • Experience in testing and collecting data on IC chips or circuits using standard tools such as Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
  • Proficient with ATE analog digital instruments, PCB layout parasitic reduction, and strong debug/troubleshooting experience
  • Hands‑on experience in debugging analog products with serial bus interfaces
  • Experience with test hardware and test program development
