Renesas Electronics Corporation in Austin, TX seeks a senior test systems engineer with 10+ years in Automated Test Systems (ATE) to lead development for analog, digital, and mixed-signal testing, focusing on analog power devices.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive process improvements, and collaborate with product engineering and operations to scale test capabilities and ensure high quality during ramp and release.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering or CS.
  • 10–15+ years experience with Automated Test Systems (ATE).
  • 10–15+ years hands-on ATE test development for analog/digital/mixed-signal, focus on analog power testing.
  • Experience programming in C++, Perl, Python.
  • Experience testing ICs/circuits with standard tools (oscilloscopes, meters, spectrum analyzers).
  • Proficient with ATE instruments, PCB parasitic reduction, debugging skills.
  • Hands-on debugging of analog products with serial bus interfaces.
  • Experience with test hardware and test program development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop best-of-class test programs for NPI, quality, and capability initiatives.
  • Qualify, characterize, and correlate developed products.
  • Mentor junior engineers and build team capabilities.
  • Lead process, procedure, guideline, and specification implementation for test group.
  • Develop baseline software/hardware solutions to scale the team.
  • Determine ROI inputs for planning and test flow with revenue, COGS, capacity in focus.
  • Complete quality planning, hardware and software reviews for the test group.
  • Coordinate with product engineering/operations for ramp and release.
  • Support production yield and customer return activities for quality.
  • Serve as test platform expert on ATE equipment used by the test group.
  • Mentor younger engineers; support lab team with calibration/maintenance planning.
  • Manage 3rd party relationships and external technical teams.

Job Description
  • Develop best of class test programs to support key NPI, quality & capability initiatives

  • Work with leadership to implement processes, procedures, guidelines and specifications that define and drive execution and quality for the test group
  • Implement and develop baseline software and hardware solutions for scaling the broader team or organization
  • Determine and report ROI inputs for planning and test flow with revenue, COGS and capacity mindfully in focus
  • Complete quality planning, hardware and software reviews for the test group
  • Coordinate with product engineering and operations to enable seamless production ramp and release
  • Support production yield and customer return activities for quality
  • Act as a test platform expert on the ATE equipment in use for the test group
  • Serve as a mentor for younger and less experienced engineers
  • Support the tech/lab team in dealing with equipment calibration and maintenance issues and planning as required
  • Manage 3rd party relationships and building success with external technical teams
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 10 to 15+ years of experience working with Automated Test Systems (ATE).
  • 10 to 15+ years of hands-on experience in ATE test development for analog, digital and mixed signal, with a strong focus on analog power product testing.
  • Experience in programming such as C++, basic, Perl, python, etc.
  • Experience in testing and collecting data on IC chips or circuits using standard tools such as Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
  • Proficient with ATE analog digital instruments, PCB layout parasitic reduction, and strong debug/troubleshooting experience
  • Hands-on experience in debugging analog products with serial bus interfaces
  • Experience with test hardware and test program development
