ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for Platform Access Controls within the Security organization in Santa Clara. You will set the architectural direction for authorization, build core RBAC/ABAC frameworks, and own end-to-end features across multiple teams to ensure a secure-by-default platform.

You will lead design reviews, drive testing strategies, and mentor engineers while tackling complex production issues and driving high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software development experience
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, OO design, design patterns and performance at scale
• Expert level in Java and Golang, with production-grade experience
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD integration
• Deep understanding of software quality principles including reliability and observability
• Experience integrating AI into engineering workflows or tooling

Responsibilities

Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
