Coinbase, Inc. seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the Platform Payments team to define the engineering vision for moving fiat across 50+ countries and payment rails.

You will own multi-quarter strategy, architect for reliability, and drive platform-level improvements that impact success rates, latency, and cost. You will lead end-to-end design of large initiatives, set standards for financial correctness, and partner with FinHub, Payments Risk, Regulatory Platform, and Product to balance

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Deep money-movement architecture experience including PSPs, ISO 20022, routing, and high-volume payments.
• Proven ability to design highly available, high-performance systems and scale proactively.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Strong communication of complex tradeoffs to executives and stakeholders.
• Responsible use of AI with human oversight to improve efficiency and quality.

Aufgaben

• Define and drive multi-quarter technical strategy for Payments across rails, routing, and transfers.
• Architect and evolve the core Payments platform for high availability and low latency at global scale.
• Lead end-to-end design and rollout of large cross-team initiatives with clear milestones.
• Set and enforce technical standards for financial correctness across Payments and money-movement paths.
• Collaborate with FinHub, Payments Risk, Regulatory Platform, and Product on cohesive architectures.
• Mentor senior engineers to improve system design quality and maintainability.
