Job summary

Hivemind is seeking a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to join the Developer Experience Engineering team. You will design and build tools, devcontainers, and platforms that speed up development across engineering teams, with a near-term focus on embedding agentic AI capabilities into developer workflows.

You will own these tools end-to-end, collaborate with multiple teams, and measure impact using signals such as DORA metrics and developer feedback to drive adoption and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience with complex distributed systems and APIs.
• Ability to own tools from design through deployment and adoption.
• Strong collaboration across engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate tools and platforms for the developer experience.
• Advance local development workflows, devcontainers, and internal platforms.
• Bring agentic AI capabilities into developer tools and workflows.
• Partner with engineering teams to understand needs and reduce friction.
• Enable co-development and inner-source collaboration through tooling and standards.
• Drive adoption of developer tools through guidance and communication.
• Own solutions from discovery to operation and improvement.
• Use signals like DORA metrics to guide investments.
• Contribute to technical direction through reviews and decisions.
• Lead cross-team initiatives and shape technical direction at scale.
