Job summary

Vestwell is looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to contribute to product feature development at our Austin office. You will work with stakeholders to create optimal software solutions using TypeScript, mentor junior engineers, and manage high-impact projects in a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience, strong AI tool proficiency, and deep knowledge of Agile practices. Along with competitive health coverage, we offer a 401(k) plan and participation in the Company Bonus Pool.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience with AI tools like Claude and Cursor.
• Experience managing teams of 3 or more.
• Advanced knowledge of Agile practices.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain software for product initiatives using TypeScript.
• Establish and enforce best practices in code.
• Work with stakeholders to support product development.
• Review requirements and translate into development plans.
• Provide production support and train junior engineers.
• Drive the vision for architecture across products.
