Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks a senior software leader to conceptualize, design, develop, and modify enterprise-wide software applications supporting end-user, system-level, and data management needs.

You will spearhead initiatives with limited management oversight and serve as a primary spokesperson for projects. The role emphasizes architecture, cross-platform deployment, and long-range planning, with expectations of travel and potential DoD clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in computer science, information systems or related discipline.
18+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, 16+ with a master's, or 13+ with a PhD; substitute equivalent engineering experience.
Demonstrated leadership directing complex technical solutions.
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Willingness to work extended hours and travel as required.

Responsibilities

Acts as an advisor for determining technical objectives for user requirements and plan for enterprise software development within the broader organizational scope.
Software development encompasses end-user, system level, and data management applications.
Advises on the planning and oversight of long-range plans for the implementation of software solutions including language, coding, platform, resource requirements, testing, and documentation.
Directs the deployment of enterprise applications including cross-platform compliance while ensuring the availability of necessary resources.
Develops and deploys the maintenance of enterprise solutions including debugging, maintenance, and updating to ensure viability in an evolving environment.
Plans for future applications based on new developments in computer technology.
Serves as the primary project and/or program spokesperson.
Acts as an advisor to management and customers on enterprise software matters, communicates with the software developer group(s), and publishes and presents technical papers.
Responsible for generating additional sources of revenue and may have program management responsibilities.
Acts in an advisory or leadership role directing the work of others.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
