Job summary

Uber is seeking a Senior Staff Security Engineer to design and build security platforms, developer tooling, and AI-powered automation at scale. The role centers on protecting the software supply chain, conducting continuous offensive testing, and securing AI applications and autonomous agents.

You will code production-quality systems, embed security into developer workflows, and lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to operation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software/security engineering experience in production systems.
• Strong fundamentals in security engineering, DevSecOps, and secure delivery.

Responsibilities

• Build software supply chain protections (signature, SBOMs, provenance).
• Engineer dependency security and remediation systems.
• Deliver scalable security platforms integrated with CI/CD.
• Turn threat models into engineering controls and secure defaults.
• Build automated offensive security capabilities (pentesting, DAST).
• Develop AI-powered security tools and test AI systems.
• Make findings actionable with correlated analysis and prioritization.
• Own production engineering direction and architecture.
