Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Georgia seeks an experienced Staff Registered Nurse (RN) III to provide professional nursing care and collaborate with the health care team to deliver high-quality, safe, and efficient care.

The role requires a Georgia RN license and BLS, with a minimum of three years of RN experience and at least two years in a specialty area. Travel to TP, SW may be required, and a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of current RN clinical experience.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in area of specialty.
• Associate degree in nursing.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire.
• Basic Life Support required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess patient health status, determine nursing diagnosis, establish nursing goals, and develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing plan of care.
• Completes POE and addresses care gaps during the patient encounter.
• Accurately documents patient data, actions, interventions, and response to treatment according to established policies and guidelines.
• Assists with procedures and monitors patients response during and after the procedure.
• Actively participates with the health care team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in coordination of patient care.
• Leads the nursing response to medical emergencies.
• Monitors electronic messaging and emails related to patient or provider requests and triages as needed.
• Initiates and monitors IV therapy, administration of medications, and other nursing procedures as prescribed.
• Assess patient and family health education needs, provides health teaching and counseling, and evaluates effectiveness of education.
• Conducts outgoing telephone calls to patients requiring follow-up care and preventative outreach.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Leads departmental or regional performance improvement initiatives.
• Autonomously perform procedures under provider supervision and evaluate patient responses.
• Serves as a preceptor and mentor for new team members.
• Provide training in-service each year.
