Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a highly capable Electrical Engineer specializing in RF systems to lead the next-generation autonomous aircraft platform. You will drive RF design, testing, and cross-functional integration to deliver mission-ready capabilities for operators.

Ideal candidates have extensive RF experience, mentorship skills, and a proven track record in leading system and unit-level design efforts, with a focus on RF sensitivity and interference mitigation.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years of industry experience in RF systems.
• Strong technical fundamentals.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams including EE, ME, SW, manufacturing.
• Mentored/guided other engineers and led design at unit and system levels.
• Experience quantifying and improving RF sensitivity performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to the RF team for the next gen aircraft.
• Quantify and optimize RF link performance, resolve desense/interference problems.
• Define system level and unit level design requirements and features for all RF systems.
• Improve design, test, and compliance processes for the engineering org. as it related to RF.
• Define test procedures, requirements, and train operators/technicians to execute accordingly.
• Help grow the team, provide hiring input, and mentor teammates.
• Establish and enforce team processes around design, test, review, cross-functional support, and regulatory compliance.
• Regularly communicate with the cross-functional team regarding RF status, risks, needs, plans, etc.
• Provide technical design input/review to your team and other engineering teams.

We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to support the design, development, integration, and fielding of a next-generation autonomous aircraft system. This position requires a balance of technical rigor, rapid decision-making, and hands-on engineering to efficiently transition concepts into operational capability. The ideal candidate is comfortable solving complex problems, taking ownership, working within an accelerated aircraft development environment, and is motivated by getting meaningful capability into the hands of operators quickly.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Provide technical leadership to the RF team for the next gen aircraft

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• You have 15+ years of industry experience as an Electrical Engineer in RF systems
• Have strong technical fundamentals
• Have worked on cross-functional teams involving EE, ME, SW, manufacturing, production, etc.
• You have technically mentored/guided other engineers
• You have led design work on the unit level and system level
• Experienced with quantifying and improve RF sensitivity performance.

$216,000 - $325,000 a year

Full-time regular employee offer package:

Temporary employee offer package:

Pay within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment)

Salary compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
