Job summary

Juniper Square is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead architecture and evolution of core systems powering our platform. You will shape distributed services, cloud infrastructure, and the developer platform to enable fast, secure product delivery at scale.

The role requires hands-on leadership, architectural vision, and the ability to ship reliable software for large private markets customers, with remote-first work and occasional in-person leadership meetups and customer engagements.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in distributed systems, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles.
• Proven experience architecting large-scale, multi-tenant distributed systems in production.
• Strong hands-on experience with modern cloud-native stacks (Kubernetes, containers, service mesh, serverless).
• Advanced proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or similar; strong systems-level debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end systems architecture strategy across services, infrastructure, and developer platform.
• Design scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems spanning APIs, workflows, and event-driven architectures.
• Lead architecture reviews and technical decision-making for high-stakes initiatives.
• Write production-quality code and review service designs, infrastructure changes, and performance-critical paths.
• Mentor engineers and partner with product, data, and security teams to align investments with outcomes.
