Job summary
United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead to drive the technical direction of our internal Commerce Platform. You will own architecture and delivery for catalog, pricing, promotions, and subscriptions enabling growth for 500,000+ small businesses nationwide.
You will partner with product, data science, and cross‑functional engineering teams to build reliable, scalable infrastructure.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering with leadership experience.
- Mastery in at least one language (Ruby, Java, Python, Go).
- Deep, scalable backend platform experience in commerce/billing.
- Proven ability to design for reliability with measurable SLOs.
- Experience using AI tools to improve engineering throughput.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and architecture for the Commerce Platform with catalog, promotions, and subscriptions.
- Partner with product and cross‑functional teams to define roadmaps and adoption.
- Drive end‑to‑end delivery of complex projects from scoping to rollout.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and craft a growth culture.
- Utilize AI tools to accelerate velocity and establish best practices.
- Own observability, reliability, and performance with SLOs and post‑mortems.
- Collaborate with marketing/business to evolve self‑serve product management.
