Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Two years’ experience in acute care preferred.
• Active New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Strong ability to assess and reassess patients admitted to the unit.
• Ability to perform point-of-care testing (e.g., Glucometer, Rapid Covid Testing).
• Proficient with computer applications – Allscripts and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Nursing leadership skills and collaboration with care teams.

The Senior Staff Nurse in Radiology Nursing is responsible for directing patient care for designated shifts. Reports to the Nurse Manager and works with related departments on ensuring that patient care issues are addressed during the designated shift.

Provides professional nursing care to people of all ages and their families. Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care. Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel. Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center’s standard of care, and the institution’s mission and goals.

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university – HIGHLY PREFERRED
• Two (2) years’ experience in acute care – HIGHLY PREFERRED
• Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
• Ability to assess and reassess patients admitted to the unit.
