Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale is seeking a Senior / Staff Machine Learning Engineer for the AV Core group to advance reinforcement learning for end-to-end driving models and to take promising ideas from design through large-scale experiments and evaluation.

You will be a technical owner for reinforcement learning, collaborate with researchers and engineers across AV Core, Simulation and Product, and aim to produce measurable improvements in driving behavior.

Qualifications

• Experience with reinforcement learning in complex, high-dimensional problems.
• Strong understanding of policy and value learning, off-policy learning, and generalization.
• Hands-on experience with Python and PyTorch in ML pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Shape and execute the RL roadmap for Driving Core / Core Model Safety.
• Develop and evaluate offline and on-policy RL methods and reward modeling strategies.
• Lead delivery of learned policies and contribute to production-ready ML stack.
