Job summary

SRC, Inc. is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and development of advanced electromechanical systems used in high performance environments.

You will drive mechanical architecture, supervise complex product design efforts, and validate performance through analysis and testing. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize designs for performance, cost, and reliability, support thermal and structural analyses, and ensure compliance with CM and GD&T

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 4+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Proven expertise in configuration management (CM), engineering change workflows, and strict design control across the full product lifecycle.
• Strong background with electromechanical design, engineering specifications, test procedure development, and tight-tolerance requirements.
• Proficiency executing structural FEA and thermal CFD analyses to validate and optimize designs.
• Experience with SolidWorks (3-D modeling and 2-D drawings preferred).
• Thorough knowledge of ASME Y14 and GD&T standards.
• Familiarity with designing mechanical hardware to withstand harsh environmental conditions, including shock, vibration, and thermal cycling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of complex mechanical drawings, parts, and assemblies.
• Analyze mechanical designs to ensure they meet system level requirements and environmental specifications.
• Apply configuration management best practices, engineering change processes, and documentation control throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to optimize electromechanical designs for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Support material selection, tolerance analysis, and DFMA activities for ruggedized and high precision systems.
• Direct the efforts to develop and test mechanical designs for both our prototyping and manufacturing businesses.
