Job summary

Astronics Corporation in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Senior or Staff Mechanical Engineer to join the Cabin Electronics Product Support Team. Hybrid/on-site role with some home work allowed. This position requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and multi-year experience in design, testing, and product support for aerospace systems.

Responsibilities include design changes, documentation, fixtures, testing, and continuous improvement across cross-functional teams. Relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Typically 5+ years for Senior Mechanical Engineer; 8+ years for Staff Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Create and review design changes to ensure products continue to meet requirements and remain producible.
• Develop or modify assembly fixtures and other tooling to support production and test operations.
• Research and update engineering documentation and specifications as needed.
• Design evaluation of new and existing designs; generate detailed design documentation for enclosures and assemblies using 3D CAD; share lessons learned during reviews.
• Support environmental testing to gather engineering data and participate in root cause investigations.
