Job summary

Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) in Kirkland, WA seeks a Senior Engineering Technician to support the Cabin Power Electronics Team. You will perform hands-on build, repair, and troubleshooting down to component level, with strong documentation to meet FAA and customer reporting requirements.

The role requires advanced electrical knowledge, production skills, and capability to design, build, and maintain specialized test setups and prototype systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent electronics training.
• 4–6 years hands-on electronics assembly, test, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with DO-160 testing and MIL-STD-461 preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and interpret layouts for test fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, modify, and troubleshoot prototype electromechanical systems.
• Build and test fixtures, handle cable/harness and basic machining tasks.
• Plan and execute testing from conceptual information with engineers.
• Document test procedures, notes, data, and configurations with traceability.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve issues.
