Job summary

Magnite, Inc. in Los Angeles is hiring a Staff Java Engineer to design and implement microservices powering customer-facing APIs and internal tools. You will lead projects from inception to deployment and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable software.

The role requires 6+ years of server-side Java experience, Spring Boot, Docker, AWS, and strong DB skills. This hybrid position offers two remote days and three in-office days.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of production coding experience, preferably server-side Java.
• Experience with RESTful Web Services using Spring Boot and Docker.
• AWS cloud infrastructure and services (EC2, ECS).
• Strong DB proficiency with SQL and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Experience with messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Maven, Git, Jenkins, Jira).
• Proficiency in multiple languages incl. JavaScript/React is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of software projects from inception to deployment.
• Design scalable, reliable microservices powering APIs and platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver appropriate results.
• Own technical specs, development, testing, and release of components.
• Refactor code to optimize performance and maintainability.
