Job summary

VGS is seeking a Senior Staff Infrastructure Engineer to lead the Platform Engineering team in architecting multi-region AWS infrastructure for high-throughput payments applications with zero downtime.

You will drive reliability, automation, and observability while partnering with Product, Security, and Core Engineering to define scalable patterns and Golden Paths. Mentoring and shaping engineering practices are core to the role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building distributed systems in mission-critical environments.
• Advanced AWS IaC, Terraform, and scalable infrastructure experience.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Go, or Bash for automation.
• Expertise in observability with Prometheus/Grafana/OpenTelemetry.
• Security foundations and networking essentials in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, scale, and fortify global cloud infrastructure for payments apps.
• Drive GitOps, CI/CD, and IaC to reduce toil and increase reliability.
• Build end-to-end observability and own incident management lifecycle.
• Lead from the front, define Golden Paths, and mentor teams.
• Design private connectivity and partner with product, security, and core engineering.
