Job summary

VGS is seeking a Senior Staff Infrastructure Engineer to lead platform engineering and architect scalable, multi-region cloud infrastructure for mission-critical payments in AWS. You will drive reliability, automation, and observability while owning core platform foundations and promoting strong security practices.

You will collaborate with Product, Security, and Core Eng to design Golden Paths, mentor teams, and accelerate velocity across the organization in a remote-first, hybrid-friendly

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience taking ownership of outcomes in large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Strong Kubernetes and Docker experience.
• Solid understanding of cloud security and networking fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Build immutable, self-healing multi-region AWS infrastructure managed entirely through code.
• Drive resiliency and automation using GitOps, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Develop end-to-end observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry; own incident management and blameless post-mortems.
• Mentor teams and design Golden Paths to accelerate velocity with high alignment.
• Architect and operate high-performance, low-latency private connectivity for external customers.
