Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer (IAM) to own the technical strategy that unifies workforce, AI agent, service, and workload identity into a cohesive platform. You will set architecture across pods, drive adoption with hundreds of engineering teams, and serve as a senior technical voice for identity and access management.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with senior platform leadership
• Deep IAM expertise across workforce identity, authorization, and non-human identity
• Production Go experience and distributed systems design on AWS
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and align cross-team architecture
• Translate audit/regulatory requirements into automated controls and evidence
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-year IAM strategy and architecture across multiple pods
• Drive architecture decisions and set standards for many teams
• Lead adoption strategy for 700+ systems including migration paths
• Collaborate with Security, Compliance, IT, Infrastructure, and product leadership
• Lead the data model and tooling to answer access questions across a large estate
• Mentor staff and raise depth of identity as a domain
