Job summary

onsemi is seeking a Senior Member of the Technical Staff to lead development and qualification of silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs. This role reports to the CTO of the Silicon Carbide Power Division and collaborates with multiple teams to meet automotive-grade reliability and cost targets.

The candidate will ensure reliability of SiC devices as they are deployed in customer packages, and will travel internationally 3–4 times per year to support customers and the company’s global footprint.

Qualifications

• PhD/MS in Engineering with 10+ years in semiconductor development or manufacturing.
• 5+ years in development and qualification of discrete power components.
• Experience with silicon carbide strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally 3–4 times per year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the SiC Technology Development team to qualify new technology nodes across all package/module platforms.
• Identify reliability concerns from customer inputs and mission profiles.
• Collect inputs on failures from stakeholders and internal reliability testing.
• Develop reliability test methods beyond JEDEC to quantify design/process impact.
• Co-develop with Backend Packaging Engineering to enable qualifications across platforms.
• Prepare collateral communicating reliability status and projections to internal teams and customers.
• Travel internationally to support customers and the global manufacturing footprint.
