Job summary

IBM Rochester seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer to advance Kora Storage, a highly available multi-tenant service. You will tackle deep systems challenges, architect, implement, and guide the team toward durable, low-latency data processing.

You will mentor engineers, shape core roadmaps, and collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver enterprise-grade storage features.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend and/or infrastructure development experience.
• Expertise in statically typed languages (Java/Scala/C/C++/Go).
• Proven ability to design and build large-scale distributed storage systems.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a scalable, multi-tenant storage engine for Kora.
• Lead engineering efforts end-to-end and set technical standards.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other teams for integration.
• Mentor engineers and guide long-term technical direction.
