Marvel Refrigeration in Greenville, MI is seeking a Staff / Lead Engineer to serve as the primary technical integrator and system architect for refrigeration platforms, guiding architecture, reliability, supplier strategy, and manufacturing integration across Marvel, U-Line, and Viking brands.

This role demands leadership across cross-functional teams from concept through production, with a focus on DFSS, V&V, robust design, and long-term field reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Sciences, or HVAC-R.
• 8+ years of technical leadership in thermal systems, HVAC-R, or refrigeration; 6+ years with relevant master's.
• Expert mastery of thermodynamic cycles, system-level V&V, SolidWorks/PDM, ERP architecture, DFSS, and NPI governance.
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with focus on thermal-fluid dynamics, refrigeration, or reliability engineering.
• 10+ years of refrigeration platform-development experience.
• Proven ability to establish design-for-reliability systems that reduce field-service rates.
• Deep technical leadership experience managing multi-site and cross-functional teams through engineering-change escalations.

Responsibilities

• Establish multi-year platform architectures and technical roadmaps for refrigeration systems, with emphasis on performance efficiency, system robustness, lower-impact refrigerants, and simplified assembly.
• Author comprehensive system-level V&V strategies and oversee advanced testing matrices that stress components under extreme environmental conditions, such as high ambient temperatures and door-ajar moisture loading.
• Set standards for DFSS, DFM, DFA, DFMEA, and 3D tolerance stack-up processes. Drive strategic BOM structures and master routing design within ERP systems.
• Lead executive-level root-cause investigations for complex, systemic failure modes, including frost accumulation, charge leaks, and structural degradation, and implement permanent countermeasures.
• Partner with Procurement, Quality, and Supplier Development Engineering to evaluate strategic components such as compressors, heat exchangers, and controls and to optimize capital-tooling capability.
• Serve as the top technical authority in Technical Design Reviews, mentor senior engineers, and drive continuous improvement across the engineering organization.
