Job summary

Shield AI seeks a highly skilled engineer for the Discrete Planning Group within the Autonomy Team. You will research, design, and implement advanced optimization algorithms for task allocation and sequencing across heterogeneous autonomous vehicles.

You will also enhance C++ mission planning software and help shape the roadmap for future autonomy SDKs. The role emphasizes solving complex optimization problems, using state-of-the-art solvers, and contributing scholarly publications.

Qualifications

• PhD in Optimization/Operations Research; graduate work preferred.
• Master's degree with 4+ years in Optimization/OR.
• Expert in Integer or Mixed Integer Linear Programming, Constraint Programming, Convex Optimization, Multi-Objective-Optimization and using solvers (Gurobi, Google-OR, CPLEX).
• Significant experience implementing algorithms in C++ and debugging with gdb in multi-threaded environments.
• Past publications on Optimization.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and implement state-of-the-art algorithms for task allocation, scheduling, and sequencing of autonomous vehicles.
• Solidify and improve existing C++ based mission planning software across vehicles and compute platforms.
• Define a technical roadmap for future autonomy solutions and SDK offerings.
