Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for the Search Platform to drive product and front‑end strategy across iOS, Android, and Web, shaping the end‑to‑end user experience for Text, Visual, and Image Search.

You will lead the design, implementation, and productionisation of search features, collaborate with product, design, and ML teams, use AI to prototype new interactions, and mentor 35+ engineers to raise the bar on performance, quality, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building consumer‑facing products.
• Experience leading frontend across iOS, Android and Web.
• Experience with API design and data contracts.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the multi-platform product and front‑end strategy for Search across iOS, Android and Web.
• Lead the design, implementation and productionisation of end‑to‑end Search features with product, design and ML teams.
• Use AI—including LLMs and generative techniques—to prototype new interaction patterns and experiments.
• Provide technical leadership for 35+ engineers: define architectural direction and raise the bar on quality.
• Collaborate with infra, ML and back‑end teams to design robust APIs and data contracts.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to extend Search innovations across the org.
• Mentor and grow engineers and technical leaders in frontend, full‑stack and product thinking.
