Senior Staff Engineer - Finance Data Specialist (Remote)

Join GEICO as a Senior Staff Engineer - Finance Data Specialist (Remote) and contribute to building a comprehensive Finance data lake/mart. This role involves guiding business teams and technologists, partnering with engineering teams, and establishing a new Finance Data Mart. Candidates should possess a strong background in Finance Systems and technical expertise in ERP and Data Warehouse systems, with industry experience supporting Financial Services.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Driving solutions with deep Functional and Technical systems expertise
2. Leading design sessions and collaborating across teams to ensure efficient system design
3. Partnering with Finance Leaders to develop a vision and roadmap for a Finance Data Lake
4. Designing and supporting data ingestion and transformation solutions using ETL/ELT tools and cloud data solutions
5. Supporting the development of analytical solutions for Revenue and Expenses
6. Ensuring compliance with governance frameworks for SOX and Audit reviews
7. Translating business needs into technical specifications and sharing best practices

Qualifications:

• 20+ years of Finance Systems experience with ERP solutions (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS, SAP, Workday)
• 5+ years supporting FP&A applications and Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart
• Proficiency in Data Modeling, SQL, and ETL/ELT tools

Preferred Qualifications include:

• Deep Finance domain expertise and experience with FP&A processes
• Knowledge of Revenue/Expense analytics tools like Power BI or Tableau
• Strong communication skills and project management understanding

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related fields or equivalent experience

Salary Range: $130,000 - $260,000 annually, based on experience and other factors.
