Job summary

Gusto is seeking a Sr Staff Software Engineer on the Entity Management team to lead the technical development of a new product that simplifies compliance for entrepreneurs. You will drive key initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, design, customer support, and marketing to deliver impact.

You will shape the team’s software processes, tackle legacy system upgrades, act as a technical leader, and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience with leadership in greenfield products.
• Experience mentoring engineers and guiding best practices in software design.
• Strong communication and collaboration across product, design, and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute the technical roadmap for the new product within your team’s scope and align with Entity Management goals.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Customer Support, and Marketing to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Develop and refine the team’s software development processes and approaches.
• Drive implementation of new functionality in legacy systems to support the new customer base.
• Serve as a technical leader, designing solutions and solving complex challenges.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards.
