What You’ll Do

The Advanced Controller Development (ACD) team, part of Samsung’s Memory Business Unit, focuses on developing new memory and storage technologies to solve key problems in Cloud & Data center environments. You will work on creating new computing system architectures for emerging machine learning, data analytics, and edge computing applications, focusing on memory and storage enhancements through prototype controllers optimized for mass production.

Responsibilities

1. Participate in architectural definitions and be responsible for microarchitecture at subsystem and chip levels.
2. Design logic and RTL implementation, including quality checks (Assertion, Lint, CDC, STA).
3. Integrate third-party IPs with system bus, peripherals, and CPU cores.
4. Collaborate with the verification team for debugging to meet coverage targets.
5. Coordinate with physical design teams on timing constraints, synthesis, DFT, and static timing analysis.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s (MS preferred) in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 15+ years of experience in logic design, data center tech, or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in microarchitecture of SoC, interface subsystems, and logic modules.
• Knowledge of ASIC design flow.
• Experience with commercial IPs like UCIe, CPU, Ethernet, HBM interfaces.
• Deep understanding of PPA trade-offs.
• Proven ability to handle complex logic designs and achieve timing closure.
• Self-motivated problem solver with teamwork skills.
• Inclusive, adaptable, curious, resilient, collaborative, innovative, and creative.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of HBM, ARM processors, AMBA, AXI protocols.
• Experience with compression and encryption algorithms.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies like CXL, in-memory compute, Ethernet-attached SSDs.
• Strong communication skills and creativity in problem solving.

What We Offer

Competitive pay range: $180,950—$289,050 USD, based on role, location, and experience, plus performance incentives.
