Job summary

Recovery.com, located in Madison, WI, seeks a senior technical leader to own architecture, ship production code, and guide AI-enabled product improvements. You’ll influence technical strategy across the engineering org and partner with Product to deliver scalable solutions.

The role combines hands-on development with long-term architectural direction, mentoring, and alignment across teams, with a hybrid work model and relocation considerations as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with production applications.
• Deep hands-on experience shipping production-grade software.
• Strong TypeScript skills with React/Next.js and Node.js familiarity.
• Proven track record designing and owning architectural direction.
• Experience with relational databases, cloud infrastructure, and modern deployment platforms.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and implement AI tooling across the software lifecycle to improve quality and speed.
• Architect and own production system designs for scalability and reliability.
• Partner with Engineering leadership, Product, and stakeholders to set technical strategy and reduce debt.
• Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards without direct management.
• Lead major strategic initiatives and drive high-impact engineering efforts.
