Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Staff Data Engineer with remote eligibility to help define and scale our data platforms in the cloud. You will collaborate with data scientists, ML experts, product managers and leaders to design reusable data solutions across the enterprise.

You will lead technical strategy for pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and governance while mentoring engineers and recruiting talent to strengthen Capital One Tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and 9+ years in data engineering.
• 5+ years in data architecture and 7+ years building data pipelines.
• 3+ years in AWS-based data apps and 4+ years in data modeling for relational/non-relational stores.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering strategy and drive scalable data platforms.
• Mentor engineers, recruit top talent, and promote engineering excellence.
• Communicate with executives and shape data governance and architecture blueprints.
• Own end-to-end data projects and influence cross-team standards.
